Elizabeth F. Digris

"Belchertown - Elizabeth F. (Podbelski) Digris, daughter of the late Leon and Mary Podbelski of Ware, died peacefully at Holyoke Medical Center on January 15, 2016, surrounded by her loving family. She was 92. "Betty" was predeceased by her husband, Benedict Digris, in 2006. She was also pre-deceased by her four siblings, Leo, Bernard, and Fred Podbelski and Mildred DeSantis. She leaves two sons, Robert Digris of Belchertown and William Digris and his wife Lisa, of Warren. She also leaves several nieces and nephews. "Betty" was a devoted wife and mother, and she also took great joy in carting for the numerous cats and dogs she had over the years. She will be missed by her family. The family wishes to thank the staff of Wingate in South Hadley and Holyoke Medical Center for the care they provided "Betty" in the final months of her life. A Funeral Mass will be Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. at St. Francis of Assisi Church followed by burial in South Cemetery. Visitation will precede the Mass from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the Beers & Story Belchertown Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Francis of Assisi Church. "
