Emma Rose Hartley

"South Hadley, Emma Rose Hartley Cote, 25, died peacefully surrounded by her devoted family and friends on Sunday, April 14 at Baystate Medical Center. Born in Woodland, CA, she was the daughter of James and Janet (Gilman) Hartley of Granby. Emma was raised in Granby and was a 2011 graduate of Granby High School. She attended Mount Holyoke College and the veterinary technician certification program at Holyoke Community College. She loved animals, enjoyed horseback riding, and worked on numerous horse farms. She also enjoyed taking care of her pets and plants, knitting, and playing video and board games with family and friends. She will be forever missed by her husband of almost 3 years, Luke Cote, along with her parents and two sisters, Lily and Clara. Her in-laws, Daniel and Annie Cote of Granby, sister-in-law, Tessa Cote of Ludlow, maternal grandmother, Judy Gilman, fraternal grandparents, Judy and Dick Castle and Bud Hartley, and grandparents-in-law, Robert and Jeannette LePage also survive her. Visiting hours will be on Wednesday, April 24 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at Beers and Story South Hadley Funeral Home, 646 Newton St. Private memorial services and burial will take place on Thursday.
