Eugene R. Campbell

"Palmer-Eugene R. Campbell, 73, passed away suddenly on March 13, 2016. He was born June 30, 1942 in Los Angeles, CA, son of Alfred J. and Dorothy (Harte) Campbell. Eugene proudly served his country in the US Air Force for twenty years, obtaining the rank of Master Sergeant. Due to being in the military, he has lived in many places and resided in Palmer for the past 16 years. Eugene was proud to be the author of 7 published books. He loved to travel and took many cruises after his retirement with his wife, Mary. He was a member of the DAV in Mountain Home, Idaho. Eugene was predeceased by his first wife, Betty Lou (Edwards) Campbell in 1992. He will be dearly missed by his wife of 20 years, Mary A. (Nilsen) Laitres-Campbell, as well as his daughters, Tammy Chevalier and Brian of Pine Idaho, Wendy Pritchett and Warnie of Newport News, VA, and Melody Campbell and Jonathan Ball of Boise, Idaho. He also leaves Mary's daughters, Patricia Casey and David of Hampden, Susan Thornholt of Palmer, Deborah Rollins and Rudolph Pisarczyk of Palmer as well as a sister Isabel Brown, half sister, Laura McMurray, 10 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Beers & Story Palmer Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements. A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 19th at 10 a.m. at the Orchard Covenant Church, 95 Berkshire St., Indian Orchard. Military honors will be at the conclusion of the church service. Friends and family are asked to meet directly at the church. Donations may be made in his memory to either Shriner's Hospital or Springfield Rescue Mission. "
