Gerald A. Yelle

"Chicopee - Gerald A.Yelle Sr., 88, passed away on January 24, 2019 surrounded by his family at the Soldiers' Home in Holyoke. Born May 20, 1930 in Holyoke, MA, son of Wilfrid and Anna (Lariviere) Yelle. He proudly served his country in the US Army during the Korean War. Gerald has lived in Chicopee since 2012, previously residing in Florence and Holyoke. He retired from Avery Dennison after working for 26 years as a printer. He was a communicant of St. Anne's Church in Chicopee. Gerry will be deeply missed by his wife of 64 years, Constance (Hamel) Yelle and their six children, Gerald A. Yelle, Jr.(Jenny) of Amherst, Lorraine Malone (Michael) of CA, Robert Yelle (Susan) of Ellington, CT, Catherine Demers (Garry) of Westfield, Dolores Dibrindisi (Thomas Quinlan, Jr.) of Hadley and Michael Yelle (Molly Kirejczyk) of Florence. He is also survived by a sister, Janet Gardner (Edward) of TX, 15 grandchildren and their spouses and 17 great grandchildren. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother Donald. Family and friends may gather at the funeral home on Wednesday, January 30 by 10:15 a.m. to follow to a Funeral Mass at St. Anne's Church at 11:30 a.m. Burial will follow in the Massachusetts Veterans' Memorial Cemetery in Agawam at 1:00 p.m. Calling hours will be Tuesday, from 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm at the Beers & Story South Hadley Funeral Home (646 Newton St.).
