Gladys M. Stockwell

"Gaithersburg, Maryland - Gladys M. (Carlson) Stockwell, 87, passed away on October 11, 2012. She has lived in Maryland since 2005, and previously lived in Palmer for 59 years. She was born October 21, 1924 in Heartville, VT, daughter of Andrew and Mary (Faulkner) Carlson. Gladys previously worked as a billing clerk at the former Ludlow Hospital. She was an active member of the Second Baptist Church and served on many church committees. Gladys was a 62 years member of the Palmer/Ware Grange, a member of the State and National Grange and served as secretary of the Palmer Grange for 46 years. She is survived by two children, Linda Garcia of Gaithersburg, MD and Raymond Stockwell of Palmer. She also leaves two grandchildren Richard Garcia and Mark Stockwell. Gladys was preceded in death by husband, Richard Stockwell. Services will be held Tuesday at 10:00 am in the Second Baptist Church in Palmer. Burial will follow in Oak Knoll Cemetery. Calling hours will be Monday, October 22, 2012 from 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM at the Beers & Story Palmer Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Second Baptist Church or to the Ware Grange. "
