Harvey N. Lafrenaye

"East Longmeadow - Harvey N. Lafrenaye, 87, entered into eternal life on Thursday, June 9, 2011. He was born in Chicopee, MA on July 16, 1923, son of Eddie and Rosia (Roy) Lafrenaye. He served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII and was a member and past commander of the American Legion Post 353 in Willimansette and a charter member of the Elks in Chicopee. In 1988, Harvey retired from Mt. Holyoke College after working for 25 years as a carpenter. Living in the Fairview section of Chicopee all his married life, he recently relocated to East Longmeadow in 2010. Harvey was a communicant of St. Anne Church. He was predeceased by his wife Vivianne M. (Lacombe) Lafrenaye on Feb. 12, 2011. He is survived by two daughters, Denise Paradis and her husband Paul of Enfield, CT and Lisa Sechtman and husband Larry of Chesapeake, VA. He will also be missed by four grandchildren, Audrey, Marc and his fiancée Nikki, Sarah and Sean, a sister Rita Robillard and her husband Paul of S.Hadley and a brother Robert Lafrenaye of Holyoke. Family and friends may gather on Monday, June 13th for 9:00 a.m. at the Beers & Story South Hadley Funeral Home, 646 Newton St. (Rt116), followed by a liturgy of Christian burial at 10:00 a.m.at St. Anne Church in Chicopee. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours are Sunday from 2:00-5:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association. "
