Helen L. Beaver

"Belchertown - Helen L. Beaver, 74, of Bay Rd., died on August 11, 2013 in Cooley Dickinson Hospital. She was born October 8, 1938 in Westfield, MA, daughter of Joseph and Leokaydia (Olzewski) Piwcio. Helen has lived in Belchertown since 1971, having lived in Springfield prior to that. She retired from the Department of Mental Retardation as a bookkeeper. Helen was an avid archer and member of the Mass Bare Bow Association for many years; having achieved the title of women's champion many times. Helen enjoyed camping, playing bingo, and trips to the casino with her husband. She will be deeply missed by her husband of 57 years, George (Charlie) Beaver of Belchertown and three children, Charles Beaver and his wife Susan of Hampden, Ronald Beaver and his wife, Cathy of Belchertown, and Karen Beals and her husband Steve of Southwick as well as 6 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. She also leaves a sister, Theodora Megliola of W. Springfield, brother, Arthur Piwcio of NY, Helen was preceded in death by two brothers Joseph and Edward Piwcio. Services are private and at the convenience of the family. Beers & Story Belchertown Funeral Home, was entrusted with the arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to the Audubon Society. "
