"Hugh F. Burns, Jr, of the Bondsville section of Palmer, died Thursday, September 18 at Baystate Medical Center with his family by his side. Born in Worcester on July 4, 1939, he was the son of the late Hugh and Theresa (Lagranade) Burns, Sr. He resided in Worcester before relocating to Palmer in 1975. He will be sadly missed by his wife of fifty years, Joan F. (Gardner), his three sons, Paul Burns, Christopher Burns and his wife Mandie of Palmer, Stephen Burns and his wife Christina of Belchertown, his two daughters, Karen Chamberlain and her husband Michael of Palmer, Rebecca Greene and her husband Jack of Graham, NC, daughter in law Michelle Burns of Ware, and his granddaughter Thanh Tran along with many other grandchildren and great grandchildren. He is also survived by his sisters Nancy of Marlborough and Paula McManus and her husband Edward of Sturbridge. Besides his parents, his daughter Mary Kathleen and son in law Hung Van Tran, and infant daughters Mary Theresa and Anne, brother John and sister Marilyn predeceased him. Funeral services for Hugh will be on Monday at 9:15 from the Beers & Story Palmer Funeral Home followed by a Mass at 10:30 at St. Bartholomew's Church in Bondsville. Burial will follow in St. Thomas Cemetery. Calling hours are Sunday from 4 to 7 pm. Donations in his memory may be made to a Cancer or Heart organization of donor's choice. "
