"Palmer - Ida C. Dragon, 97, entered into her eternal rest on June 18, 2013. She was born December 17, 1915 in Sangerville, ME, daughter of George H. and Elizabeth (Leonard) Douty. Ida worked as a Salesperson for Stanley Home Products for over 20 years. She was a member of the Second Congregational Church, Order of Eastern Star, Rebecca's and Lioness Club. She was a woman of great faith and inspiration to all who knew her and will be missed but always remembered. She is survived by six children, Gloria Robertson of W.Groton, MA, Richard Shorette of S. Daytona, FL, Carolyn Sullivan of Somers, CT, John Shorette of Ware, George Shorette of Monson and Robert Shorette of Sarasota, FL. She also leaves many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. Ida was preceded in death by her first husband Leroy Shorette, Sr. and second husband, Edward S. Dragon, daughters, Virginia Thursby and Eleanor Fowler, son, Leroy Shorette, Jr., brother, Leonard Douty and sister Rachel Rosa. A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, June 23, 2013 at 2:00 p.m in the Second Congregational Church. Beers & Story Palmer Funeral Home was entrusted with the arrangements. Burial is at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions may be made to Wing VNA & Hospice. "
