James L. Keith

"James L. Keith, 70, of Smith St. died November 28 at home. Born in Springfield, May 17, 1934, he was the son of the late V. Paul and Hazel (Payson) Keith. Mr. Keith grew up in Springfield and moved to Palmer in 1988. He served in the Air Force just following the Korean War. He had worked for American Bosch and B.F. Perkins as a machinist for many years before starting his own business B& J Machine in Palmer. Jim was also a beekeeper for many years and won ribbons at the Big E for his Hillside Country Honey. He attended Faith Baptist Church and was a member of the Palmer Lions Club. He will be deeply missed by his wife of 45 years, Barbara (Haley) Keith, his daughter Charlotte Cournoyer of Stafford Springs, CT, and two sons William of Enfield, CT and James Brian of Palmer. He also leaves his seven grandchildren, a sister Susan Nichols of Danielson, CT and a nephew and five nieces. Funeral services with military honors will be Thursday at 10:00 a.m. in Faith Baptist Church followed by burial in Four Corners Cemetery. Calling hours are Wednesday from 1:00-3:00 and 6:00 –8:00 p.m. Donations may be made in his memory to either Faith Baptist Christian Academy, Shearer St, Palmer or Palmer Lions Club."
