James Vincent

d. Oct 30, 2026

After a long courageous journey, James Vincent, 77 passed away peacefully on 10/30/2026 in the comfort of his Belchertown home leaving behind a legacy of laughter and adventure.

After earning his degree from Western New England College, he went on to become a skilled decorating contractor, where his creativity and craftsmanship knew no bounds. His talents were many, he was equally at home blowing glass, woodworking in his shop, tinkering with a car, or tackling a complex project - he was the ultimate "Mr. Fix-It." A man of quiet strength, he took on life's challenges the same way he faced a stubborn project: with determination, a positive attitude, and zero complaints. Friends and family were the grateful recipients of Jim's talents as he selflessly helped anyone in need, never asking for anything in return. Even as Kennedy's disease threw physical obstacles his way, he never grumbled, choosing instead to focus on helping others and enjoying the beauty of the world around him.

Jim truly loved nature. He spent many trips exploring the great outdoors, hiking in National Parks, and appreciating the beauty of a roaring waterfall. Among his favorite memories were trips to the Canadian Rockies, American southwest, sunny days on St John, and the lush landscapes of Ireland.

Of all his adventures, his greatest joy was his family. He shared 51 wonderful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Denise, building a life filled with deep devotion, incredible travels, and plenty of laughter. Together they raised two sons that meant the world to him. He took immense pride in watching them grow, passing down his selfless nature, his love for the outdoors, and his legendary handy skills.

He is survived by his wife Denise, his two sons, Michael and David, their girlfriends Annie and Hank, a brother-in-law, Arthur and wife Joan, two nephews, and a lifetime of beautiful handcrafted treasures. He was predeceased by his parents, Clifford and Arlene and his brother Clifford Jr.

At Jim's request there will be no services. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Donations can be made to Compassionate Care ALS of Falmouth, MA. The family extends a special thanks to Michael Hodgkins of Compassionate Care and also the Cooley Dickinson hospice team.
