Jennie T. Greene

Jennie T. Greene, née Banas, passed away peacefully on July 31, 2024, in Longmeadow, MA. Born on October 4, 1923, in Indian Orchard, MA at her home, Jennie lived a full and industrious life, spanning over a century of dedication, love, and tenacity.

Jennie was the cherished daughter of the late John and Theresa (Janas) Banas. She was the loving wife of the late Hubert F. Greene, who predeceased her in 2013. Jennie was the beloved mother of two sons, Paul Greene and Richard (Barbara) Greene. She is also remembered by her predeceased sister and six brothers, who were part of her large and close-knit family.

Her life was marked by tireless work and commitment. Jennie worked on the family farm and contributed significantly to the family's school bus driving and construction business, H.F. Greene and Sons.  She not only drove school buses but also handled the bookkeeping with meticulous care until her retirement at the age of 70.

Jennie actively participated in the Catholic Women's Club and previously involved in the PTA, and Union Grange #64. Known for her fortitude and capability, Jennie always "ran the show," displaying leadership and determination in every aspect of her life.

A private graveside service will be held in her honor. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to Legacy Lifecare Hospice, 770 Converse St., Longmeadow, MA 01106, in memory of Jennie.

Jennie's legacy of hard work, leadership, and dedication will forever be remembered by her family and all those whose lives she touched. May she rest in eternal peace.
