Jessica Lynn Hawk

Jessica Lynn Hawk, 42, passed away peacefully on Thursday Oct 31st, surrounded by family after a long battle with addiction. Born on January 10, 1982, she spent the majority of her life growing up in Belchertown, MA and most recently lived in Southbridge, MA.

Those who knew Jessica remember how she could light up a room with her energy, wit and sense of humor. She often coined funny phrases and nicknames which always brought a smile or laugh to her friends and family. When she applied herself, she was a brilliant student accumulating hundreds of credit hours on the Dean’s List at Holyoke Community College. She was also an incredible writer and a creative thinker, crafting beautiful stories, cards and endless scrapbooks. Jessica was kind and opened her heart to everyone, always wanting to put others before herself. She was so fortunate to have many family members and friends offer her love and support during times of need, especially her immediate family and most recently, her aunt Jennifer Poirier who cared for and supported Jessica with unwavering love.

Jessica leaves behind four children whom she adored: Ethan (18), Anthony (13), Caleb (5) and Natalie (5). In addition she is survived by her father Randy Hawk of Belchertown, her sisters Jennifer (Joseph) Assad of Wilbraham and Christina (Shane) Hoverman of Cincinnati, OH, as well as nieces, nephews and many loving extended family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her mother, Francine Hawk. Jessica’s faith was always important to her and her family is comforted knowing she is now safe, at peace and will be carried home to the lord. Finding light within this period of darkness, Jessica was able to gift life to four people through the process of organ donation, a decision she would have proudly supported. The family will be scheduling a service/celebration of life at a later date in 2025. In lieu of flowers, Jessica’s family requests donations be made to the Hope Adult & Teen Challenge Recovery Center in Vestal, NY, as a means to save others fighting addiction. https://www.hopeadultandteenchallenge.org/
