John F. Lillis

"Monson - John F. Lillis, 72, previously of Springfield, died on May 25, 2012 at home. Born December 14, 1939 in Brattleboro, VT, he was son of Danial and Olivette (Buckley) Lillis. John lived most of his life in Springfield, moving in with his daughter and her fiance in January of this year. In 2005, after 37 years of employment, John retired from Pratt & Whitney. He enjoyed bowling and fishing along with being an avid sports fan. In his younger years, he enjoyed playing sports and more recently watching them. He will be greatly missed by his three children, Margaret Lillis and her fiance Kevin Wellington of with whom he lived, Bonnie Lillis of Springfield and Avis Lillis of NC. John also leaves his previous wife Marjorie Goad of Ware and siblings Mary of Brattleboro, VT, Margaret of Keene, NH, along with 12 grandchildren and one great grandchild due in September. Besides his parents, John was preceded in death by sister, Olivette, granddaughter, Melissa Lillis, and great granddaughter, Dakota. Services will be held at Beers & Story Palmer Funeral Home, May 31, 2012 at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow in the Hillcrest Cemetery. Calling hours will be Wednesday, May 30, 2012 from 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm at the funeral home. "
