"Belchertown - Joseph Raymond LaBelle, 82, of Pine Valley Plantation, passed away August 3, 2016 at the Soldiers Home at Holyoke. Born July 1, 1934 in N. Attelboro, he was the son of George Alfred and Alice (Lanteigne) LaBelle. Raymond proudly served his country in both the US Navy and Air Force during Korea and Vietnam. He retired as an engineering inspector for EBSCO and previously worked at the Washington Group. Ray loved the game of golf, bowling and was an excellent card player. He met his wife, Theresa, square dancing and took much enjoyment in traveling after his retirement. Raymond will be dearly missed by his wife, Theresa (Doucette) LaBelle as well as his step children, Waldo S. Quinney IV and his wife Nancy of Lyndeborough, NH, Cynthia A. Stedman and husband Terry of Belchertown, Bradford P. Quinney of Westford, and step daughter-in-law, Izzy Quinney of Belchertown. He also leaves 8 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and a niece, Mechele Peloquin and nephews, Wayne and Steven Peloquin, all of Marlboro. Ray was predeceased by his siblings, Lorraine Peloquin and Joseph LaBelle as well as a step son, Eric S. Quinney and nephew Paul Peloquin. The family wishes to thank the staff at the Soldiers Home at Holyoke for their exceptional care for Ray and the entire family. A Funeral Mass will be held Thursday, Aug. 11th at 11:00 a.m. at St. Francis Church, a calling hour will precede the Mass from 9:30-11:00 a.m. at the church, 24 Jabish St., Belchertown. Friends and family are welcome to gather directly at the church. Burial will be private. Beers & Story Belchertown Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to either the Soldiers Home at Holyoke, 110 Cherry St., Holyoke, MA, 01040 or the Belchertown Senior Center, 60 State St., Belchertown, MA 01007. "
