Joseph S. Michonski

"Palmer, Joseph S. Michonski, 86, former longtime resident of Palmer, died December 28, 2010 at York Hospital in York, Maine. Born in Palmer, April 21, 1924, he was the son of Michael and Apolonia (Balon) Michonski and lived here most of his life. He established the former Palmer Window Products Company, which he owned and managed for 55 years before retiring. Joe proudly served his country during WWII in the Navy. He is survived by his wife of 65 years Irene (Jurkiewicz) Michonski, along with his daughter Dianne Durkin of Portsmouth, NH and son David Michonski and his wife, Linda Davison Michonski of Greenwich, CT. He also leaves 2 grandchildren, Katherine and Michael Michonski, both of Greenwich. Additionally, his brother John C. Michonski of Chicopee and Victoria Jablonski of Bondsville survive him, along with nieces and nephew, Barbara Regish of Agawam, Patricia Costello of Chicopee, Joseph Mastalerz of Three Rivers and Catherine Mancuso-Watson Verona, NJ. Funeral services will be Friday, December 31 at 9:00 a.m. from Beers & Story Palmer Funeral Home, 1475 N. Main St., followed by a Liturgy of Christian burial at 10:00 a.m. at Divine Mercy Church. Burial will follow in Sts. Peter & Paul Cemetery. Calling hours will be Thursday from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the funeral Home. "
