Joyce E. Ferguson

"Belchertown-Joyce E. (Chevalier) Ferguson, 68, of Cottage St. passed away March 5, 2009 at home with her family by her side. Born February 25, 1941 in Holyoke, she was the daughter of the late William and Harriet (Squires) Chevalier. Joyce has lived in Belchertown for most of her life and worked at the Belchertown State School as a telephone operator for 11 years. She was also a part time teacher and on the Board of Registrars from 1993-1995. Joyce was a poll volunteer for many years and made many beautiful quilts. She will be greatly missed by her husband of 47 years, Quincy, along with her son Michael and his wife Jenny of Belchertown. Joyce's twin grandsons Evan Stanley and Cooper Quincy along with her cousins, Marguerite Drew Harris and Rainy and Carol Prescott also survive her. She was predeceased by her sister Hazel Orr. Services will be privately held and Beers & Story Belchertown Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
