Belchertown - Karen E. (Dukeman) Schiffer, 72, passed away August 26, 2023. Born in Cambridge on February 6, 1951, she was the daughter of Thomas and Helen (Tierney) Dukeman. Karen grew up in Cambridge and graduated from Elms College with her degree in nursing. Since 1984, she has resided in Belchertown with her husband, Tilo. Karen worked as a school nurse in the Belchertown Public School System for 24 years and enjoyed her time there with students and faculty. She loved tending to her flowers and took much enjoyment in her time quilting, most especially with her dear friend, Nancy K. Traveling through the years included trips to Alaska, Hawaii, Grand Canyon, Sedona, Cancun, and beyond. Karen also loved to cook and made delicious meals enjoyed by many. Karen's love will forever remain with her husband, Tilo, along with their children, Matt Schiffer of Belchertown and Melanie Schiffer of Theresa, New York and their grandson, Nathan Schiffer of Belchertown. Karen will also be long remembered by her sister, Mary and her husband, Jim Lovell of Hampton, NH and brothers George Dukeman of Hampton, NH and Todd Dukeman of PA. Visitation will be Wednesday, September 6 from 3pm-6pm at the Beers & Story Belchertown Funeral Home with a service to begin at 6pm.
