Leo O. Larouche

" Leo O. Larouche, 65 of Byers Street Springfield, died Monday Aug. 11 at his home. Born in Nashua, NH July 18, 1938, he was the son of the late Ernest and Anita (Cloutier) Larouche. He lived most of his life in this area, but also resided in Washington D.C. from 1958-1968. He was highly educated and earned a Masters Degree in Library Science. Leo worked for the Friendly Ice Cream Corp for 12 years, most recently in their Longmeadow branch. He also worked for over 20 years as a lot watchman for Lido’s restaurant in Springfield. He was a past member of the Forest Park AA and enjoyed helping the homeless. Leo will be sadly missed by his four brothers and their wives, Rene and Eileen of Belchertown, Leon and Naomi of Chapman, KS, Jean Guy wife Patty of Midland VA, and Roger of Holyoke. He also leaves many nieces and nephews and his close friend Kim. He was predeceased by his father in 1969 and his mother in 1997. Funeral Services will be Thursday, August 14 at 10:00 am at the Beers and Story South Hadley F.H. A calling hour will be held Thursday from 9:00 -10 am immediately before the service. Burial will take place at a later date. Donations may be made in his memory to the Monastery of Precious Blood, 700 Bridge St., Manchester, NH, 03104. "
