Lidia S. Mendes

"South Hadley- Lidia (Silva) Mendes, passed away at home in the company of her loving family on October 21, 2016. She was the daughter of the late Agostinho and Laura Silva and was predeceased by her sister Laurinda Parentela in 2014. Lidia received her education from the former Rosary High School and the former Providence School of Nursing in Holyoke. She was a communicant of St. Theresa Church. In recent years, she was treasurer of A.C.T. Vehicle Equipment, a family business. Lidia is survived by her husband of 58 years, Manuel Mendes, five sons, a daughter, ten grandchildren, nephews and their families. She will be truly missed by family and friends for her love, strength, grace, and dignity. Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, October 29th at 10:00 a.m. at St. Theresa's Church, 9 E. Parkview Rd, please meet directly at the church. Burial will follow at St. Rose Cemetery, both in South Hadley. There will be no calling hours.
