Belchertown- Louise Margaret Groux, 91, passed away October 6, 2021. She was born on November 25, 1929 in Springfield, Massachusetts to the late Roy and Florence (Robidoux) Forkey. Louise previously worked as the head cook of the Belchertown State School for many years. Prior to her employment at the school, she dedicated her time to managing a lovely home for her loving husband and 6 children. Louise's faith always played a large role in her life. She was a communicant of St. Francis of Assisi Parish and was the Eucharistic Minister while working with the former Fr. Vern. She also held the role of Chaplain for the American Legion Auxillary Women's Group in Belchertown. In her leisure, Louise enjoyed reading, making ceramics, and spending time with her family. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her brothers, Roy, Edward and Robert Forkey. She will be dearly missed by her husband of 72 years, Wilfred A. Groux, and their children, Christine A. Woynar of Orange, MA., Richard A. Groux of Belchertown, Suzanne Biogatti of Tavares, FL., Michael E. Groux of Little River, SC., Kathleen C. Groux of Chula Vista, CA., and Steven R. Groux of Belchertown. She also leaves her brother, Henry Forkey of Antelope, CA. as well as many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A calling hour will be held on October 20th from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the Beers & Story Belchertown Funeral Home. A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. at St. Francis of Assisi in Belchertown and can also be attended virtually by visiting https://client.tribucast.com/tcid/6151011050. Burial will follow at 1:00 p.m. at the MA Veterans' Memorial Cemetery in Agawam. Face masks are required.
