"Belchertown - Mary E. (Crowther) Chapin, 80, of Franklin St., died on March 14, 2010 at Wing Memorial Hospital. Born July 17, 1929 in Enfield, MA, daughter of the late Joshua and Bertha (Cook) Crowther. Mary worked as a machine operator for Wright's for 20 years and was a member of Swift River Historical Society. She is survived by two sons, Wayne Chapin and his wife Luanne of Three Rivers and William Chapin and his wife Louise of Palmer. She also leaves a brother, Raymond Cook, Sr. of Brimfield two sisters Dorothy Crowther of Bondsville, Shirley Pierce of Belchertown, and a sister-in-law Joan Crowther of Monson. She will also be missed by six grandchildren Debra Jerome, Marie Alley, Paula Chapin, Brian Chapin and his wife Alissa, and Joshua Chapin and three great grandchildren Thomas Murphy, Andrew Jerome and Brandon Chapin. Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Sumner Chapin in 1985 and by two brothers Philip and Robert Crowther. Services will be held at Beers & Story Palmer Funeral Home, Friday, March 19, 2010 at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow in Quabbin Park Cemetery in Ware. Calling hours will be Thursday from 4:00 PM - 7:00 PM. . "
