Mary Ellen Cote
Dec 11, 1961 — Jul 6, 2011
"Belchertown - Mary Ellen (LaCross) Cote, 49, of Pine St. died on July 6, 2011 at Tufts Medical Center. Born December 11, 1961 in Holyoke, MA, she was the daughter of the late Victor and Marie (Richard) LaCross. Mary has lived in Belchertown for the past seven years, previously of Chicopee. In the past, she worked as a service technician for Accu-Time Systems and more recently enjoyed her time with her family. When her children were younger, she was a member of the former Royal Columbians Drum and Bugle Corps that became the Knight Storm of Chicopee. She also was a softball coach for the Aldenville Ajax and enjoyed square dancing, crocheting, knitting and was an avid bowler. Many family vacations were spent camping in the New England area and Mary found so much enjoyment in bird watching, squirrel watching, bear seeking and taking in all of nature's wonders. She will be greatly missed by her husband, David Cote of Belchertown, and daughters, Melinda Hickok and husband Matthew of Mount Laurel, NJ and Lisa Cote and fiancé James of Warren. She also leaves grandson Connor Hickok and future grandson due in August along with siblings Richard LaCross of Hadley Linda Paul and Vincent LaCross both of Palmer. Many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, her puppy Bonnie, and companion Babe will also remember Mary and the life she shared with them. A memorial service will be held Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. at the Beers & Story Belchertown Funeral Home. Calling hours will precede the service from 9:00-11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to her family for disbursement to the Walk of Champions that the family will be participating in her memory (Mary Lane Oncology Walk to raise money for patients).
