Mary Sibik

" Mary (Wisniowski) Sibik, 79, of Commercial Street in the Thorndike section of Palmer, died Tuesday in Wingate at Wilbraham. Born in Palmer, March 26, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Stanley and Sophie (Topor) Wisniowski. She was a lifelong resident and a communicant of St. Mary’s Church in Thorndike. She and her late husband, Charles, owned Charlie’s Variety in Thorndike for 40 years, before retiring in 1987. She had also worked for Cascades Diamond many years ago. Her husband of 51 years, Charles, died April 1, 2002. She is survived by a son Charles and his wife, Sara of Thorndike, and two grandaughters, Beth and Ellen Sibik. A funeral mass will be Friday at 1:00 p.m. in St. Mary’s Church followed by burial in St. Anne’s Cemetery. A calling hour will precede the service from 11:30– 12:30 on Friday. Donations may be made in her memory to either St. Mary’s Renovation Fund, Main Street, Thorndike, 01079, or Quaboag Valley VNA, 103 Fairview St, Palmer, 01069 or to a charity of one’s choice. "
