"Amherst-Matilda (Santoro) Lomanno, 98, of University Dr. passed away February 14, 2009 at the Center for Extended Care in Amherst. Born December 28, 1910 in Boston, MA, she was the daughter of the late Vincent and Mary Angela (Stagliano) Santoro. Matilda lived most of her life in the Boston area and moved to Amherst in 2001. She was predeceased by her husband Frank Lomanno June 27, 1986 and is survived by her children, Frank Lomanno and his wife Susan Kakley of Belchertown and Kathleen Anderson of Buena Park, CA. Matilda also leaves 5 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Visitation will be held Thursday Feb. 19 from 2:00-4:00 p.m. at the Beers & Story Belchertown Funeral Home, 10 Maple St. (Rte 202). A graveside service and burial will take place Friday Feb. 20 at Bourne Veterans' Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of one's choice."
