Maureen E. Minns

"Palmer - Maureen E. (Denning) Minns, 91, died on April 4, 2018 in Wingate at Wilbrahm surrounded by her loving family. Born November 19, 1926 in Palmer, she was the daughter of Jeremiah and Catherine (Hurley) Denning and was a lifelong resident. She was a communicant of St.Thomas the Apostle Church and a longtime member of the Daughters of Isabella. Maureen worked for Mass. Electric for many years and then as a school aide for the Palmer Public Schools. She was also a longtime volunteer for the Palmer Food Share. She will be deeply missed by her daughter, Nancy Minns-Piepho and spouse Julie of Monson, along with a sister Margaret Backus of Palmer and 4 precious grandchildren Lisa Martin, Jessica and Ryan Minns, and Kate Fiske, along with 7 great grandchildren. She also leaves many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Maureen was predeceased by her husband, Albert T. Minns (2012), as well as 3 children, Thomas (1987), Ellen Adams (1997), Brian (2006), and 3 siblings Katherine, Richard and Timothy Denning. The family would also like to acknowledge her caregiver Gail Doss as well as the staff at Wingate at Wilbraham for all the loving care that was given to Maureen to keep her comfortable and happy at the end of her life's journey. A Funeral Mass will be Monday, April 9 at 10:00 a.m. in St. Thomas Church followed by burial in St. Thomas Cemetery. Calling hours will be Sunday from 2:00 - 5:00 p.m. at the Beers & Story Palmer Funeral Home, 1475 N.Main St,(Rte.20).
