Mildred Smith

" Mildred (Norbert) Smith, 92, of Diane St, died Dec. 24 in Wingate Nursing Home. Born in Monson, March 6, 1910, she lived in Palmer most of her life. Mrs. Smith worked at the former Better Brush Company in Palmer for 43 years, retiring in 1975. She was an avid reader and a former member of the Palmer Grange. Mildred was predeceased by her husband Charles Merritt Smith in 1971. She is survived by a son Charles W. Smith of Palmer, 5 grandchildren, Cheryl McFadzen of Agawam, Bonnie Malone of VA, Beth Pelletier of Brimfield, Nancy Weidler of Wales, and Barry Smith of CT, along with 13 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be Monday at 10:00 a.m. in the Beers & Story Palmer Funeral Home, followed by burial in Oak Knoll Cemetery. Calling hours are Sunday from 2:00—5:00 p.m. Donations may be made in her memory to either Palmer Ambulance Service, Shearer St. Ext, Palmer, or American Cancer Society. "
