Noella Neill

"Belchertown – Noella (Desrosiers) Neill, 86, of Chauncey Walker St. died on April 11, 2011 in Wingate at Wilbraham Nursing Home. She was born December 25, 1924 in Holyoke, MA, daughter of the late Ernest and Alma (Parent) Desrosiers. After her parent's passing, Noella was raised at Brightside in Holyoke. Noella worked as an attendant for Belchertown State School for 20 years. She was a communicant of St. Francis Church and she loved to read religious and healing books. In her leisure, she enjoyed the ocean, square dancing, camping, playing cards, music, attending dance recitals and musical concerts. She was predeceased by her husband George L. Neill in 2001. She is survived by three daughters, Maureen E. Vosburgh, Judy Archible, and Diane Neill all of Belchertown. She will also be missed by 5 grandchildren Ryan, Todd, Shelby, Alyson & Kyle. When the grand-children were growing up, she was known to them as "Cookie Nonnie" and to the many other friends and extended family they lovingly called her Nonnie. Family and friends may gather at the funeral home on Friday, April 15th at 9:15 a.m. to follow to a Funeral Mass at St. Francis Church for 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow in the Island Pond Cemetery in Ludlow. Calling hours will be Thursday from 4:00 - 7:00 PM at the Beers & Story Belchertown Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Francis Church Bldg. Fund, Belchertown, MA 01007. "
