Ralph L Bovat

"Bondsville-Ralph L. Bovat, 80, passed away June 4, 2017 at Wingate at Hampden, surrounded by his family. Born October 25, 1936 in Westfield, he was the son of Leo and Iva (Steele) Bovat. Ralph proudly served his country in the US Marine Corps from 1956 until 1959. For over 20 years, he worked in the maintenance department at the former Belchertown State School. Ralph enjoyed camping in Vermont and spending time boating on the lake as well as watching NASCAR. Ralph will be dearly missed by his wife of 57 years, Joyce (Holcomb) as well as their children, Glen Bovat of Gardner, Christine Skowyra and her husband Les of Brimfield, Sheila Zajac and husband John of S.Barre along with 8 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and sister, Carol Leroux of Thorndike as well as his dog, Lucy. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his son, Scott in 2004. All services are private and Beers and Story Palmer Funeral Home. "
