Richard A. Moreau

"Belchertown-Richard A. Moreau, 64, passed away as a result of a car accident on December 19, 2018. Born in Holyoke on December 16, 1954, he was the son of Francis R. and Hortense (Forget) Moreau. Richard grew up in Belchertown and lived in W.Springfield for 30 years. For the past 10 years, he has resided back in Belchertown. Richard worked at a few different manufacturing locations, one being Avery Dennison. Richard was always happiest being outdoors and could often be found walking in the woods, gardening or fishing. He loved kids and animals and would take much enjoyment in feeding stray animals. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his aunts and uncles, Jeanne Forget, Leona and Ed Conrad and John Lowrey. Richard is survived by his siblings, Rosalind and Celeste Moreau of Belchertown and John Moreau of Springfield. He also leaves an aunt, Sharline Lowrey of Mississippi, cousins, Sue Wells and husband John of Chicopee and Christopher and Michael Ziemba of Mississippi as well as many relatives in Canada. Visitation will be held Saturday, Jan 5th from 2-4:00 p.m. with closing words at 4:00 p.m. at the Beers & Story Belchertown Funeral Home. Burial will be private for the family at Notre Dame Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to Dakin Animal Shelter."
