Robert S. Allard

"Belchertown - Robert S. Allard, 90, of Eskett St., died on October 13, 2012 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born July 24, 1922 in Leominster, MA, son of the late J. Oliver and Elizabeth (Brideau) Allard. Robert called Belchertown his home since 1984 and previously lived in Chicopee. Bob was a communicant of St. Francis Church in Belchertown, MA. He retired in 1986 from Xidex Corp. in Holyoke where he worked as a chemist for many years. Previously, he worked for Monsanto and Scott Graphic Inc. Robert proudly served his country in the US Navy during WWII. Bob will be deeply missed by his wife of 68 years, Yvonne A. (LeBlanc) Allard of Belchertown and two sons, John S. Allard and his wife Debra of Chicopee and Robert S. Allard II and his wife Debbie of Monson. He will also be missed by four grandchildren Sean, Christopher, Dawn and Michelle and three great-grandchildren Timothy, Stephanie and Olivia. Robert was preceded in death by a son, Richard O. Allard in 1986. A calling hour will be held on Wed., October 17th from 10:00-11:00 am at the Beers & Story Belchertown Funeral Home. A Funeral Mass will follow at 11:30 am at St. Francis Church. The burial is in South Cemetery, Belchertown. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to Habitat for Humanity. "
