Robert W. Berge

"Granby, Robert W. Berge, 58, died on Saturday, October 24 at Baystate Medical Center with his family by his side. Born in Northampton on July 24, 1957, the son of Clinton (Sr) and Gertrude (Laplante) Berge. Bob has resided in Granby since 1987, formerly living in Groton, CT. He was an avid RedSox, Patriots and Bruins fan and enjoyed playing hockey (Goalies play for free!), fly-tying, deep sea fishing and his annual summer vacations on Cape Cod with his family. Bob served his country in the U.S. Navy and went on to obtain his law degree from Western New England College School of Law. He worked for many years at Hallmark Cards in the Human Resources Dept. at Western Mass Legal Services, and most recently at Equifax as an unemployment hearing representative. For those who knew Bob, his perseverence and tenacity over the last year were but another example of a life spent in hard work and commitment to family. He will be deeply missed by his wife, Eileen (Emery), along with their children, Orion Berge of Brooklyn, NY, Dylan Berge and his wife Kara of West Springfield, Noah Berge and Emily Berge both of Springfield along with his cherished grandchildren, Bryanna, Everett, Ethan, and Owen. His siblings, Clinton Berge Jr. (Priscilla) of Natick, Katherine Charter (Anthony) of VT, Brenda Berge-Galloway of Granby, William Berge (Lisa) of Chicopee, Laura Gaj (Alan) of Granby, Curtis Berge (Lisa) of NJ, along with his mother in law, Helen Emery of Holyoke and in laws, Kate Emery (Susanna White) of Huntington, Patricia O'Connell (Larry) of Chicopee and John Emery of Vallejo, CA also survive him.
