"Belchertown – Ronald A. Morra, 62, passed away peacefully on June 19, 2006. Ronald was a graduate of the University of Rhode Island, Professional Engineer for over 35 years. He dedicated most of his career to public service, serving as Assistant Highway Engineer of Conn. D.O.T., City Traffic Engineer of Springfield, Ma., Town Engineer, Superintendent of Sewers and Health Agent of Ludlow, Ma. He was Principal of his own firm providing Civil and Forensic Engineering Services. Through the years he volunteered his free time to help family and friends, Boy Scouts, Coaching little league baseball games and many projects in various communities. He was surrounded by his beloved wife, Carol A. (Fortino) Morra, and survived by his children Thomas A. Morra and his wife Alison of Ware, Robert A. Morra of Belchertown, Lisa A. (Morra) Foley and husband Dennis of West Springfield, Joseph Morra, Rhonda Tracy, Dawn McClintock all of Connecticut. He also leaves seven grandchildren and his brother Steven Morra of Rhode Island. A funeral service will be Saturday at 9:15am from the Beers & Story Belchertown Funeral Home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am in St. Francis Church. Burial will be in St. Thomas Cemetery in W. Springfiel. Calling hours are Friday from 5:00-8:00pm. Donations may be made in his memory to either the American Heart Association 1111 Elm St., W. Springfield, MA 01089 or American Diabetes Association, 2348 Post Rd., Warwick, RI 02886. "
