"Brimfield, Ronald F. Sohlgren, 72, died peacefully on Saturday, November 7 at Baystate Medical Center. Born in Mont Clair, NJ, February 26, 1943, he was the son of Violet (Thompson) Sohlgren of St. Petersburg, FL, and the late Frank Sohlgren. Ron lived in Parsippany, NJ, before moving to this area in 1971 and was a claims representative for Home Insurance Company for 20 years and then worked for Sanderson MacLeod for 20 years, retiring in 2001 as Sales Manager. He was an avid golfer and was a longtime member of Quaboag Country Club in Monson. He also enjoyed bird watching and taking walks. Besides his mother, he will be deeply missed by his companion of 20 years, Barbara Piatek, with whom he lived, 2 sisters, Nancy Stephens of St. Petersburg, FL and Dolores D'Accardi (Vincent) of Lake Hiawatha, NJ, as well as 2 nephews, Vinnie & Jason D'Accardi. He also leaves his good friends and golf buddies, Larry Tassinari, Jake Doyle, Don Cantwell and Eddie Hebert. Calling hours will be Wednesday, Nov. 11 from 5:00 0 7:00 p.m. at the Beers & Story Palmer Funeral Home, 1475 N. Main St.(Rte 20). A service to remember his life will be Thursday at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home, followed by burial in Brimfield Cemetery. "
