Roy E. Clifford

"Monson - Roy E. Clifford , 90, died on April 26, 2016 surrounded by his loving family after a long illness. Born in Ludlow, April 30, 1925, he was the son of Owen P. and Lillian (Tetreault) Clifford. Roy graduated from Springfield Trade School. He proudly served his country during World War ll as a staff sergeant in Patton's 3rd Army in the Battle of the Bulge. He was a self employed master plumber, Roy E . Clifford Plumbing & Heating, Co, Inc. While living in Agawam, he was a member of the Lions Club; in Hampden he was a member of the Hamden Garden Club. Roy was married to the love of his life, Anita (Graveline) for 69 years. Besides his wife Anita, Roy will be deeply missed by his daughters, Marlene Nielsen and husband Chris, of Huntington Beach, CA, Lisa Duclos and husband Jim, of Longmeadow, Kim Clifford of E. Longmeadow, April Tluszcz and husband John, of Ludlow, and his six grandchildren, Dr Tenney Georgetti, Margaret Lodigiani, Kealy Kane, Taylor and Roy Nielsen, and Michael Tluszcz and two great-grandchildren Charlie and Lily Georgetti. He also leaves many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers Owen and Donald and sisters Lillian Jacquinet and Gertrude Mortimer. Calling hours will be Monday, May 2 from 8:30 - 10:00 a.m. at the Beers & Story Palmer Funeral Home, 1475 N. Main St, (Rte 20) followed by a liturgy of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. in St. Cecilia's Church.
