Ruth Elizabeth Raczka

"Ruth E. (West) Raczka, 77, of Park Street, died Thursday at her home. Born in Ware, September 14, 1926, Ruth grew up in Ware and later graduated from Warren High School. She furthered her education at the former Worcester Hahnemann School, receiving her degree in nursing in 1948. She worked at the Mary Lane Hospital as a registered nurse for a total of 25 years, retiring in 1993. Mrs. Raczka was predeceased by her husband of 47 years, Mathew V. Raczka in 1996. She will be missed by her three children, Margaret R. Ferry and her husband David of Thorndike, Joseph H. Raczka and his wife Diane of Warren, and R. Frances Mirti and her husband Tony of Southboro, along with her five grandchildren, Kimberly, Elizabeth and Suzanne Raczka, and Jonathan and Joseph Ferry. She also leaves two brothers Walter of Indiana and Clark of California. Funeral services will be Monday, May 3, at the Beers & Story Palmer Funeral Home, followed by burial in Oak Knoll Cemetery. Calling hours are Sunday, May 2 from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. and Monday from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. prior to the service.
