Shirley A Bock

"Belchertown - Shirley A. (Cutting) Bock, 81, died on February 3, 2018 in Northampton. Born May 22, 1936 in Springfield, she was the daughter of Herbert F. and Ida Mae (LaRocque) Cutting. She lived in Belchertown from the age of six and attended Belchertown schools. She was the director for Belchertown Housing Authority from 1974 - 1999. She then worked for Mill Valley Veterinary Clinic for 17 years. She was a longtime member of the Belchertown Historical Association and served as its curator for decades and was well known for her knowledge of the history of Belchertown. An avid reader, she was a supporter of Clapp Memorial Library. She will be deeply missed by her children, Edward "Ted" F. Bock of Belchertown, Paul Bock of Old Orchard Beach, ME, and Christina Smith of Belchertown, as well as her siblings, Dianne Lynch of East Longmeadow, and Robert Cutting of Benicia, CA. She also leaves her 7 precious grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Besides her parents, Shirley was preceded in death by her husband Donald in 1988. A service to remember her life will be Thursday, Feb. 8 at 11:00 a.m. in the Beers & Story Belchertown Funeral Home.
