" Sylvia B. (Snyder) Hudson Dion, 88, former long-time resident of Barre, MA passed away June 24, 2016. Born in Barre, MA daughter of Paul and Clarice (Greene) Snyder, she was educated in the Barre schools, and attended Becker Junior College in Worcester, MA achieving her Associate Degree. Sylvia worked several years in the office of the former Romar Tissue Mills in Wheelwright, MA before advancing to the office at Eagle Hill School in Hardwick, a private school for children with learning disabilities. She became office manager and worked there for 22 years before retiring in 1988. She was predeceased by her first husband, William Hudson. She is survived by her beloved second husband George E. Dion of Belchertown, daughter Donna (Hudson) Schumann and husband Gary of South Windsor, CT, daughter Sandra (Hudson) Borbone and husband Joe of Worcester, MA and a son David and his wife Shirley (Conefrey) Hudson of Uxbridge, MA. She is also survived by three step-children, Teresa Dion of TX, Richard Dion and his wife Angela of TN and Chris Dion and wife Luche, serving in the military, stationed in TX. Also two brothers, Paul Snyder of PA, Max Snyder of Barre, her beloved grandchildren, step-grandchildren, great grandchildren and step-great grandchildren. A calling hour will be held on Wednesday, June 29th from 10:00-11:00am followed by a service at 11:00 a.m in the Beers & Story Belchertown Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Quabbin Park Cemetery in Ware. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Belchertown Senior Center, 60 State St., Belchertown, MA 01007. (Checks should be made out to the Town of Belchertown). "
