Winthrop "Winny" Goulding

"South Hadley, Winthrop "Winny" Goulding, 71, passed away peacefully on December 5, at Holyoke Medical Center with his family by his side. Born in Holyoke on March 12, 1943, he was the son of Kenneth and Sophia (Davidson) Goulding. He was raised in Holyoke and graduated from Holyoke High School Class of 1961. He and his wife Carole-Ann (Caprarella) resided in South Hadley where they raised their family. He was a very loving dad and was very active with his children's sporting and extra curricular activities. He enjoyed time spent at the family homes in Chatham on Cape Cod and in Lincolnville Beach, Maine and was a NASCAR enthusiast. Winthrop worked for AR Green Construction his entire career and was Superintendent of many large projects over the years. He was a member and served on many boards for the Carpenters Local 108, was an Apprentice School Instructor and was also very active in the Boy Scouts of America as a Troop 303 Leader. He was a communicant of St. Theresa's Church. Winny cherished most, the time spent with his family and will always be remembered as a wonderful husband, father and grandfather. He will be deeply missed by his wife of 43 years, Carole-Ann and their children, Kimberly O'Leary and her husband Sean of Easthampton, Timothy and his wife Erin of Lunenburg, MA along with his grandchildren, Sean, Ryan, Colby, Thomas and Sophie. His brother, Victor and his wife Nancy of Holyoke and many nieces and nephews also survive him. Funeral services will be on Tuesday, December 9 at 9:00 a.m. at Beers & Story South Hadley Funeral Home, 646 Newton St., followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. at St. Theresa's Church. Burial will follow in St. Rose Cemetery.
