Yvon Joseph Bessette

"Yvon J. Bessette, 42, died on Friday, December, 21 at Baystate Medical Center with his devoted family by his side. Born in Springfield on April 28, 1976 he was the son of Nancy (Bessette) Green of Chicopee. Yvon was raised and educated in Chicopee and relocated to Springfield in 2005. He was employed by Sullivan Transportation for the past 21 years. In his youth he was an avid basketball player and most recently he enjoyed fishing, hiking with his two dogs, riding his bike and spending quality time with his family and friends. He will be remembered as a hardworking man with a very loving and forgiving demeanor who always was ready to help others. Besides his mother he will be deeply missed by his wife, Andrea (Lukomski) Bessette and their daughter Alana along with his three children, Angelica and Brenden Besner and Brittany Bessette. His siblings, Jason Bessette, Adam Green and Tiffany Curran along with his father and mother in law, Andrew and Debbie Lukomski of S. Hadley and brother in law, Andrew Lukomski II and his wife, Pam, and sister in law, Sara Long and her husband Mike all of Chicopee and many nieces and nephews also survive him. He was preceded in death by his step father, Yvon Pigeon. Calling hours will be on Thursday, December 27th from 4:00 to 6:30 pm at Beers and Story South Hadley Funeral Home, 646 Newton ST. A celebration of Yvon's life will follow at 6:30 pm."
