Albin Zajac, Jr & Andrea (Bedard) Zajac

Albin Zajac, Jr., passed away on Monday, July 13, 2026 at the age of 79. He was born on June 16, 1947, in Ware, MA, son of the late Albin and Jennie (Pierzga) Zajac. Albin proudly served as an aircraft mechanic in the US Air Force before dedicating himself to a career as a firefighter. He briefly served with the Palmer Fire Department and spent 26 committed years with the Ludlow Fire Department until his retirement. Albin cherished outdoor activities such as hunting, fishing, and camping, and found great joy in watching his grandchildren's sporting events.

Andrea (Bedard) Zajac passed away on March 7, 2020 at the age of 72. She was born on January 16, 1948, in Ware, MA as the cherished daughter of the late Andrew and Lillian (VanWart) Bedard. Andrea built a fulfilling career as a Registered Nurse, initially working at Ludlow Hospital until its closure and later providing care at various nursing homes in the area before retiring. She loved the warmth of the beach and the sun, enjoyed shopping and camping, and most importantly, treasured the time spent with her grandchildren.

Albin and Andrea were married in May of 1975 and they shared a lasting marriage filled with loving routines and adventures. They looked forward to having breakfast together each morning and shared a passion for travel. Their annual camping trip to South Carolina eventually led them to establish a permanent residence in Myrtle Beach, where they had lived for 17 years. Together, they are survived by their son, Jeff Zajac, his wife Amy, and their grandchildren, Levi and Tucker, all residing in Palmer. Andrea also leaves behind her brother, Michael Bedard, of Daniel Island, SC.

A celebration of Albin and Andrea's lives will be held on Saturday, September 5, 2026, with a period of visitation from 9:00 to 11:00 AM, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 AM at the Beers & Story Palmer Funeral Home. Burial will immediately follow in St. Thomas Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Heart Association.
