Antonia “Antoinette” (Allegro) Barone Cocchi age 90, a longtime resident of Palmer and most recently East Longmeadow died peacefully on October 27, 2024 after a brief illness.  She was surrounded by her loving family when she passed away.  For 33 years, she shared a love story with her husband Vincent F. (Vinny) Barone until his death on June 24, 1988.  Antoinette married Thomas Cocchi of Springfield in 1996, and they resided in East Longmeadow. Born in Sicily Italy on April 21, 1934 she was the daughter of the late Giuseppe and Lucia (Ramondi) Allegro.  She was predeceased by three brothers and two sisters and leaves behind her sister Giuseppina Bruno of Howard Beach New York, three sister- in-laws, Teresa Loncrini, Caroline Venne and Margaret Barone as well as several nieces and nephews. Many would remember Antoinette for her dedicated and long-standing employment at the former Tambrands Corporation in Palmer where she worked for many years and retired in 1992. She made many lifelong friends there and enjoyed her role as a trainer as she was always willing and happy to help others.   Antoinette was actively involved with the 16 Acres Lions Club for many years where she volunteered many hours and developed cherished friendships within the club community.   For many years Antoinette was a faithful parishioner at St. Thomas Church in Palmer.  She enjoyed cooking especially her Italian dishes which includes lasagna and meatballs.  Her foremost love was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Antoinette leaves three sons, Paul (Audrey) of Three Rivers, Joseph (Grace) of Ludlow, and Thomas (Susan) of Wilbraham; 4 grandchildren (Kristen Franklin (Dan), Marisa Fenn (Adam), Nicholas Barone (Alicia) and Trevor Barone (Rachel) as well as 4 great grandchildren, Sophia Franklin, Carter Fenn, Joey Franklin and Mia Barone. She will be deeply missed by her family but her legacy of caring and love will remain forever. Visitation will be held on October 30, 2024 from 4-6pm at the Beers & Story Palmer Funeral Home. Family and friends are welcome to gather at the funeral home on October 31, 2024 at 9am for a procession to St. Thomas the Apostle Church for Antoinette's funeral Mass at 10am. Burial will immediately follow. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory can be made to the American Cancer Society by visiting donate.cancer.org.
