Joanne F. Greany

Three Rivers- Joanne F. Greany, 79, passed away on July 18, 2026 surrounded by her loving family. She was born June 1, 1947 in Montpelier, VT to the late Joseph and Christine (Emerson) Jacobs. Joanne was a graduate of Palmer High School and later worked as a staffing coordinator for the Monson Developmental Center for many years before retiring. Joanne shared a very special bond with her pets and dearly loved her dog, Sassy, and her late dog, Precious. She enjoyed playing BINGO, going to tag sales, and taking daily trips to Big Y. Joanne showed her love by making special dinners for everyone, and she deeply loved and cherished her family.

Besides her parents, Joanne was preceded in death by her beloved husband, William W. Greany Jr., and her sister, Cathy Jacobs-Clark. She will be dearly missed by her daughters, Laurie Fernandes of Palmer and Lynn Greany of Three Rivers; her two grandchildren, Mark Fernandes and wife Lauren of Belchertown and Amber Cote and husband Tom of New Hampshire; as well as her two great-grandchildren, Emilia and Madelyn Cote. She also leaves her sister Sandy Bedard of Warren, brother-in-law Richard Clark of Thorndike, sister-in-law Kathy Freunscht and husband Bob of Chittenango, NY, brother-in-law Marty Greany and wife Barb of Palmer, and many extended family members and friends. Services will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, donations in Joanne's memory can be made to a charity of one's choice.
