Joseph Michael Lynch III

WALES — Joseph M. Lynch, 73, passed away peacefully on June 6, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family.

Born in Springfield, Massachusetts, on June 9, 1952, Joe was the son of the late Joseph Lynch Jr. and Marie A. (Griffin) Lynch. He was raised in Springfield and later lived in Canton before settling in Wales in 1995, where he made his home and became a valued member of the community.

Joe worked for many years as an electronic technician. Outside of work, he embraced the outdoors and found joy in skiing, hiking, and spending time in nature. A proud member of the Knights of Columbus, Joe valued faith, service, and fellowship.

Above all else, Joe was a family man. He was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Jean Lynch, and a proud father to his three sons: Joseph Lynch IV and his girlfriend, Meg Downey; John “Jack” Lynch; and Jameson Lynch. His greatest joy was being “Papa” to his cherished granddaughter, Evelyn Jean Lynch.

Joe is also survived by his loving siblings, Peg Lynch, Steve Lynch, and Ellen Lynch, along with many extended family members and friends.

A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Christopher's Church on Thursday, June 11, 2026, at 11:00 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Christopher's Church.
