Mark Anthony Dulude

It is with heavy hearts and profound sorrow that we announce the unexpected passing of Mark A. Dulude, who left us on September 7, 2024, in Palmer, MA. Born on October24, 1962, in Palmer, MA, Mark lived a life defined by kindness, generosity, and an enduring love for animals – a reflection of the bigness of his heart and the warmth of his spirit.  Mark's early years were spent in Belchertown, where he attended local schools. His career began humbly as a custodian at Belchertown Schools, which laid the foundation for a strong work ethic that would carry him through years of dedicated service as a truck driver. For nearly two decades, he was a valued employee at IBA, and most recently, he brought his unwavering commitment to his role at Associated Building Wreckers, where he worked proudly alongside his nephew, Adam.  Mark's life was marked by an unyielding willingness to help others, a trait that endeared him to anyone lucky enough to know him. He was the type of person who would go to great lengths to assist a friend or stranger alike, embodying the virtues of compassion and empathy. His love for animals was particularly notable; he wouldn’t harm even the smallest creatures, and his farm upbringing saw him caring for numerous pets, including dogs and a pet raccoon.  An aficionado of old cars, Mark cherished his grandfather's 1962 Oldsmobile Super 88,in which he often enjoyed driving. Simple pleasures like drinking a cup of coffee, playing cards with family or indulging in creamy ice cream brought him immense joy.  Mark leaves behind his wife Susanne (Smith) Phoenix, and her son, Daniel Phoenix.  Mark is also survived by his son, Andrew James "AJ" Dulude, and his brothers, Rick Dulude and Geoffrey (Debra) Dulude as well as his mother, Blanche (Matthieu) Squires, uncle Ernie (Kathy) Matthieu, and his step-mother, Pat Dulude. Mark's cherished companion, Kathy Matthieu with whom he lived, will also cherish his memory along with his best friend, Mike "Cupcake" Daniels, and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.  Friends and family are invited to pay their respects during the visitation on Sunday, September 22, from 2 pm to 5 pm at the Beers & Story Palmer Funeral Home.  Graveside services will take place at St. Anne's Cemetery on Monday, September 23, at11 am. In honor of Mark's lifelong love for animals, the family requests that expressions of condolences be made through donations to any animal organization or any heart/lung association of your choice.  May Mark Anthony Dulude rest in eternal peace, his life forever cherished in our hearts.
