William G. Chapin

Palmer – William "Bill" G. Chapin, 68, Passed away on February 10, 2023, at Baystate Medical Center with his family by his side. He was born on October 17, 1954, to the late Sumner R. and Mary E. (Crowther) Chapin. He was raised in Belchertown and lived in Palmer for the past 40 years. Bill served his country in the US Navy. He enjoyed fishing and hunting, especially with his son Josh. He was the giver of nicknames for everyone he met, and he was a true New York Yankees fan. He is survived by his wife, Louise Chapin of Palmer and two children; a son, Joshua Chapin and his wife Shannah of Ware; and a daughter, Marie Wiers of Ohio. In addition to his wife and children Bill leaves his treasured granddaughter, Sasha E. Chapin and his brother, Wayne Chapin and his wife Luanne of Three Rivers as well as a son in law, Pete Wiers of Palmer. He will be sadly missed by his aunts, cousins, nieces, nephew, and friends.There will be no calling hours. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Beers & Story Palmer Funeral Home was entrusted with the arrangements.
