Chicopee- Barbara M. Dorval, 87, passed away on September 7, 2025. Born on August 12, 1938, in Holyoke, MA, she was the daughter of the late Lester Hebert and Yvonne (Bosquet) and step father Anthony Krusz. She was predeceased by her loving husband, of 46 years Gerald "Jerry" Dorval.
Barbara was raised in Holyoke and later moved to Chicopee, where she spent the majority of her years. She cultivated a career as a dedicated factory worker, workings for Prat & Austin, Kellogg Brush, and ultimately retiring from Deluxe Checks.
Above all, Barbara cherished the time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was a devoted mother to her four children, Ralph Dorval and his wife Kathleen, Bambi Beauregard, Gerald Dorval, Jr. and his wife Pamela, and Nicole McKinstry. Barbara's pride extended to her five grandchildren, Alyssa Veca and her husband David, Haley Ryan and her husband Buzz, Kyle Beauregard, Will and Warren McKinstry, along with her five great-grandchildren, Brooks, Finn, and Marina Veca, Evelyn and Harrison Ryan as well as her siblings, Lorraine Scott and Anthony Krusz. She also leaves her sons-in-law, Bill McKinstry and Jerry Beauregard, and her long-time best friend and cousin, Patsy Jackson.
In addition to her devotion to family, Barbara found joy in simple pleasures such as dining at the Cracker Barrel and savoring seafood with loved ones. Her kind spirit will be deeply missed by everyone who was fortunate enough to know her.
A Funeral Mass will be held in her honor on Thursday, September 18th, at 9:00 AM at St. Theresa's Church in South Hadley. Burial will follow at 11:00 AM at the Massachusetts Veterans' Memorial Cemetery in Agawam.
