In Loving Memory

Casmir S. Domurat, Jr., a devoted husband and beloved father, passed away on February 6, 2025, at the age of 77. Son of the late Casmir and Bertha (Ostrowski) Domurat, Casmir was born on October 26, 1947, in Holyoke and lived a life marked by unwavering dedication to family, faith, and community.  

After graduating high school in 1966, Casmir proudly served his country as a CS3 in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War era, serving on the USS George Washington and the USS Will Rogers. Following his military service, he committed over 20 years to protecting and serving the community as a Sergeant for the South Hadley Police Department. His professionalism and dedication left a lasting impact on all who knew him. Casmir was known for his fairness and respect towards others, qualities that endeared him to many.  

He was an avid hunter and fisherman, pursuits he enjoyed in the company of his beloved family and friends. His life was characterized by hard work and a deep-seated commitment to those he loved. Family was the cornerstone of Casmir’s life, a value he cherished alongside his guiding faith.  

Besides his parents, Casmir was preceded in death by his sister, Phylis Fitzgerald and husband Thomas Fitzgerald, and his sister, Stasia Lukasik. He is survived by his brother-in-law, Edward Lukasik.

He will be dearly missed by his loving wife, Helen (Ostrowski) Domurat, his sons Steven and Daniel Domurat, and his beloved grand dogs. He leaves behind nieces, nephews, and many dear friends whom he considered family.

A visitation will take place on Saturday, February 15, 2025, from 9-11 am at the Beers & Story South Hadley Funeral Home, followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:30 am at St. Jerome's Church in Holyoke. Burial will follow in Mater Dolorosa Cemetery, where Casmir will be laid to rest with honors befitting his life's service. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations in Casmir's memory be made to the Alzheimer's Association Massachusetts and New Hampshire Chapter, Central & Western Massachusetts Office, 100 N Parkway, Suite 105, Worcester, MA 01605.  

Casmir S. Domurat, Jr.'s life was a blessing, his memory a treasure, loved beyond words, and missed beyond measure.
