Dorothy B. Moreau

It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Dorothy B. (Bernashe) Moreau, 86 on Saturday, September 12th at Chestnut Hill Nursing Center in East Longmeadow. She was a wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother who loved her family and her community.

She was born in Chicopee, MA on August 3, 1940, daughter of Alfred and Mary (Guilmette) Bernashe. In her youth she attended and graduated from Holy Name High School in Chicopee. She worked for over 25 years for New England Telephone Company, and then AT&T.

Dorothy was a member of the former Nativity BVM parish where she was a sodality member. She also attended St. Anthony of Padua church where she was a choir member.

She was the former president of the Franco-American women's club, a member of the Pro-Life committee of Pioneer Valley, which she dedicated most of her life advocating for prolife causes, and former member of the Equestrian Order of the holy Sepulcher.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband of over 55 years, George R. Moreau. She is survived by her children; Angela (Sandra), Brad (Peter) and Joy Piquette (Bruce). She also leaves her grandchildren, Chelsea Moreau, Ryan Piquette (Reshma), Andrew Piquette, Evan Piquette and two great grandsons, Rowan and Reese Piquette.

She will be remembered for her love of life!

Please join the family in celebrating Dorothy's life for a Funeral Mass at St. Theresa of Lisieux Parish in South Hadley on Monday, September 21st at 10:00 a.m. The burial will be private and calling hours are omitted.
