Irene A. Fitzgibbons

Mrs. Irene A. Fitzgibbons, 90, of South Hadley, MA passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on October 12, 2023. Irene was born and raised in Holyoke and graduated from Holyoke High School. She was happily married and raised her five beautiful children in Holyoke before moving to South Hadley. She embarked on a successful career as a medical transcriptionist at Holyoke Hospital and remained there for 40 years. Irene was a devoted parishioner at St. Patrick's Church in South Hadley and was extremely dedicated to her faith. Irene had a passion for reading, gardening, going for long walks, visiting new places, and most importantly spending time with her family. Many thanks go out to the doctors, nurses and staff at Holyoke Hospital for taking such wonderful care of her. Irene's life was full and purposeful. She will be missed by many and her memory will be cherished. She was predeceased by her husband Raymond, her brothers Edward, Casimir, Richard and her sister Alice as well as her son-in-law William Whitman. She is survived by her loving and devoted family; her daughters Judith Whitman, Diane Beeler, Teresa (Tom) McMahon, Eileen (Todd) Emery, her son Raymond and her cherished grandchildren Jordan, Connor, Jenna, Charlie, Brian, Kelty, Patrick and Maggie. A memorial mass will be held at St. Patrick's Church in South Hadley on October 24th at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Patrick's Church in South Hadley.
